In Memoriam of Eric A. Schneider 1954-2024

We pay tribute to a person who was not just our colleague but a cherished friend, a mentor, and an integral part of our AMC family – Eric A. Schneider.  It is with a heavy heart that we inform you all that on April 26, 2024, Eric passed away, and yet we are also filled with deep gratitude for having had the privilege of working alongside him.

Eric joined the AMC family back in 1980, and from the very first day, he brought a unique energy to the AMC office. His enthusiasm for work was contagious, and his passion for excellence was evident in everything he did. He was not just skilled in the legal profession; but he was also generous in spirit and in his passion for the law.  Eric always made time to listen, to offer help and guidance, and to share knowledge and a word of encouragement which made him an effective mentor to many of us who have walked the halls of AMC.   He literally helped shape the careers of so many of us.  Eric had a natural gift for making people feel valued and respected and his presence made our workplace not just a place to work, but a place where we could grow, learn, and feel supported.

Beyond his professional contributions, Eric’s life outside the office was just as rich and full.  He had a love for reading to the blind, travel, running with his dogs, running marathons, and even set a goal of running at least one marathon in each of the 50 states.  He also could not say enough about his amazing and loving family, which included his wife of nearly 43 years, Mary, his children Drew and Sara, his four grandchildren and his fur babies.  Eric taught us the importance of balancing work with personal passions and the value of pursuing what brings us happiness.

In his final days, despite his illness, Eric showed immense strength and courage. His concern for how we were all coping, even as he faced his own challenges, was a testament to his selfless nature. He faced adversity with dignity and grace, and in doing so he taught us one final, invaluable lesson – the power of resilience and hope.

As we bid farewell to Eric, let us honor his memory by embodying the qualities that he exemplified. Let us strive to be compassionate, dedicated, and to find joy in our work and our relationships. His spirit will forever be a part of the AMC team, and his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us.  To Eric,  thank you for the laughter, the wisdom, and the countless memories. You were more than a colleague; you were a treasured friend and a guiding light in our lives. Your memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.

Rest in peace Eric. You have left an indelible mark on our lives, and you will be deeply missed.
